Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball
2010 Player Application
“It looked like our tired Bulldogs saved their best for last as the the defense and pitching of Nick Oelker inspired the club to a 10-2 win in the championship game,” commented assistant Homer Wernsing. “We didn’t let fatigue dampen our enthusiasm, we used all our players keeping fresh bodies in and everyone contributed,” stated Wernsing. Oelker hurled eight and a third innings walking only one, allowing five hits and no earned runs in picking up the win. Aaron Jones paced the offense with three hits including a double. Pearl contributed a 3-4 and three RBI performance and Stephen Andrews was 1-2, with two runs scored, including a triple.
"It was a great and fast summer," stated Head coach Dale Ijames as the Bulldogs will become one of only a few summer teams to accomplish a 45 win year. Bulldogs ran their record to 45-8 on the summer with the weekend wins.
