Bulldogs Top Rails
In game one a completition of earlier rain delay Central Virginia escaped jams in the 5 through the seventh innings to get a 2-1 win. Three double plays and fine defense by the BlueSox was boasted by Crowder rbi single in the sixth ininng for the win despite fine pitching from Adam Hart and Nick Oelker. Aaron Jones, Patrick Koontz and Jacob Vernon paced the offense. In Game two the Bulldogs clinched the top seed in the upcoming league tournament with a 7-3 behind the Stellar pitching performance by Drew Baldwin. Baldwin went a complete game in the heat and allowed no earned runs. Kernersville used a big 6 run second inning to get the win. Derek Brown with one rbi and Kyle Wooden and Trevor Edwards with 2 rbis each paced the big second. Ashton Paige contributed an insurance rbi in the sixth and was the only Bulldog to record two hits in the game.
Bulldogs Fall to Reds
Trevor Edwards hit his record 9th homer of the season, added a double and along with Ben Hunt and Eric Shoemaker who contributed 2 hits each to a 13 hit attack but the Bulldogs fell 11-6 to the Reds. Luke Wilhelm Hurled shutout ball but kernersville's other pitchers allowed 10 hits.
Kernersville used a 7 run fourth inning to break open a tight game in defeating Roanoke 13-1. DJ Hearsey, Zach Joyce, Wesley Edwards and Luke Wilhelm combined on allowing 5 hits and no earned runs with Joyce picking up the win on the mound. Patrick Koontz with 4 hits, Ben Hunt, Hunter Boehme and Kyle Wooden with 2 hits each paced the 14 hit attack. Koontz with 4rbis and Hunt with 2 rbis led the offense.
