Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball
Long known for its baseball tradition, Kernersville was an obvious choice for placement into the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate Baseball League. Located in the heart of the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina, Kernersville hosts some of the top baseball talent in the country. The CVCL, which consists of teams located in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, utilizes the traditional wooden bat as opposed to the commonly used aluminum and selects its players from colleges and universities across the nation.
In 2001, Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball was organized for the sole purpose of providing aspiring collegiate student-athletes the opportunity to showcase and enhance their playing skills during a summer of high level competition. Support from community residents and businesses enable the Bulldogs to offset some of the operating expenses of the team each year. The support comes in many forms, some of which include sponsorship, advertising, donations, providing temporary housing for some of the players and the enthusiastic spectators that come to the games. Without community support, Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball could not exist.
After disappointing ends to the seasons in its first three years of existance, Bulldog management began to reconsider its structure. The Bulldog organization wanted to expand its talent base and began utilizing players from Divisions I, II, III and the Junior College ranks. Since making that structural move, Kernersville has reached the pinnacle of summer baseball in each of the four previous summer seasons by capturing championships from 2003-2006.
The Kernersville Bulldog organization is determined to promoting youth baseball locally in the triad of North Carolina. Summer and fall baseball camps and instruction for any individual, as well as playing opportunities for high school players during the fall season are provided by the Bulldogs to individuals wishing to play baseball at the highest level possible.
Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball, LLC is wholly owned and operated by members of the local community whose ideals conform strictly to the sole purpose of its existence.
